The Progressive
Insurance Newsletter
December 2005 As we go through the holiday season we get frequently the wishes for a Happy New Year. Happiness and money is an issue that occupies people from antiquity. You certainly remember King Midas who found out the hard way that abundance of gold is not a synonym of satisfaction and happiness. But what is really the relation between money and happiness? Definitely some money is needed for fulfilling basic needs. However people have an innate tendency to be never satisfied and always ask for more. As soon as they arrive to the targets they set, they aim for higher, a fact that may compromise their level of happiness. But if more money does not bring happiness, what should we do in order to arrive at the state described by Aristotle as "the best, the finest, the most pleasurable thing of all"? You will find attached with our 35th monthly Progressive Newsletter the article Can money make you happy?. We believe that you will find interesting and useful information. With these thoughts about financial wealth and happiness, we would like, me and my colleagues at the Progressive Insurance Company, to wish you a very Happy New Year with health, prosperity and of course full of happiness independently from money considerations..

Our Quote: "Aim
for success not perfection. Remember that fear always lurks behind
perfectionism. Confronting your fears and allowing yourself the right to
be human can, paradoxically, make you a far happier and more productive
person." |
