The Progressive
Insurance Newsletter December 2009
The new year is coming quickly. Many of you have already started thinking about what happened during last year and what you have achieved. Similarly you are most probably considering various resolutions for the new year. A willingness to postpone receiving an immediate reward in order to gain additional benefits in the future is considered by researchers of the University of Kansas a characteristic of the personality of future-minded people. The personality trait has important implications for the long term well being and health. As the researchers have shown, people who think this way are more likely to make positive decisions about their health. The decisions of future-minded people about how much and what to eat, the time they devote for work up, their behavior relevant to smoking, alcohol, drugs and safe sex are determined by their will to collect larger rewards in terms of better health later in their life. Read more about this interesting issue in the article Better decisions for health and future-minded people that you will find attached with our 83rd Progressive Insurance Newsletter. Definitely, educating people about healthy behaviors can help them discover the huge potential they have for making better decisions for their future. Additionally, it is important helping present-minded people understand that minimal efforts and investment now could produce great benefits later. In addition to our resolutions for the new year we should not forget to see how we will imply new behaviors that will help us achieve our aims. With these thoughts in mind, I would like to wish to all of you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year 2010 for you, your family and your beloved ones.
