Dear Friends,

Each year many people die and much more get seriously injured in fires that occur in homes, buildings, public places, in forest and other wild environments. Most of these human and material losses can be prevented.

However, how much is being done in this field? How do we react as community or as relevant authorities each time that a person dies because of fire in our country? Do we really take all necessary measures in order to prevent such tragedies to happen again?

I am afraid this is not the case. Many of the victims would have been today alive if appropriate education was provided to the people. Moreover if  the necessary planning was done, many burned landscapes that we see today in various places would have been green and thriving with life today.

So everybody should know what to do if a fire started at home, in the wild or in a public place. Children should be educated. Families should spend time for planning in case of fire in their home or in their country house.

You will find more information on this interesting topic in the article Facts that you should know about fire that you will find attached with our 65th Progressive Newsletter.

Getting educated and being prepared is the best way to be protected from a fire. Campaigns regularly launched should widespread the messages and rules of prevention.

There is a lot of work to be done in this field. People are not well educated about fire. There are many relevant issues and the task to disseminate the information and make it understood and implemented by the population is difficult.

Therefore long-term and continuous intense efforts are required. These efforts combined with planning can save many lives, protect properties and our environment.

In less than 30 seconds a small flame can get completely out of control and turn into a major fire. It only takes minutes for thick black smoke to fill a house.
