Dear Friends,

Did you know that every day 3,000 people die as a result of car crashes? And that additionally 30.000 more are seriously injured every single day that passes away?

Well the epidemic of road traffic accidents globally is steadily and alarmingly increasing. Approximately 50 million people each year may be injured in road traffic crashes. This number is equivalent to the populations of London, Paris, New York, Delhi and Beijing put together.

It has been estimated that till 2020 road traffic accidents will be the third leading cause of disease and injury globally.

Riding a motorbike is dangerous. The proportion of motorbike drivers and passengers in total human burden of road accidents, is disproportionably high.

The number of young adults, adolescents and even children that ride a motorbike is increasing. Parents must understand that prevention of road traffic crashes starts very early in childhood and it is their duty to assure that their children get all necessary education and guidance for this.

You will find more useful information in the article How to prevent accidents, injuries and deaths from motorbikes accidents? of our 26th monthly Progressive Newsletter that me and my colleagues believe that you will find interesting.

If we want to see a decrease in the epidemics of deaths and injuries because of traffic accidents that we are facing today, we should all unite our forces and intensify our efforts. Otherwise the burden and the price we will have to pay will be unbearable.

Riding motorbikes is dangerous. They are two-wheeled vehicles, the rider's body is fully exposed and there is little protection during a crash.
